Android app development, from build to Play Store.

Android apps for phones, tablets and Android TV — built in Kotlin, Java or Flutter depending on what the product needs, then released, monitored and maintained properly. Based in Kochi, Kerala, working remotely with clients worldwide.

01 · TECH CHOICE

Kotlin, Java or Flutter — picking the right base

For an Android-only product with heavy platform integration — background services, device hardware, kiosk or TV work — native Kotlin is usually the cleanest choice. For a product that also needs an iPhone app, Flutter gets both builds from one codebase without doubling the work.

Existing apps often stay on the stack they were written in. I would rather extend a working Java or Kotlin codebase carefully than rewrite it for its own sake, and I will tell you which option is cheaper over the next two years, not just at the start.

02 · PLAY STORE

The parts of Android that decide whether you ship

Google Play is a moving target: target API level requirements, data safety declarations, permission justifications, signing and app bundle rules, and policy reviews that can hold a release for days. A build that runs on your phone is not the same as a build that passes review.

I handle the release configuration, signed bundles, staged rollouts and the appeal or fix cycle if a review flags something. Store listings, screenshots and release notes are prepared with you, and the first weeks of crash and ANR reports are monitored after launch.

03 · DEVICES

Performance across the Android you actually meet

Android in India means a very wide device and network range — budget phones, older OS versions, patchy data, aggressive battery managers from some manufacturers. Apps that feel fine on a flagship can stall on the device most of your users own.

I test the important flows on real hardware, keep the APK size down, stream and cache images properly, and handle offline states instead of showing a blank screen when the network drops.

04 · MAINTENANCE

What happens after launch

Android apps need upkeep: target SDK updates, library upgrades, Play policy changes, OS behaviour changes and dependency security patches. A launch without a maintenance plan usually means an app that stops updating quietly a year later.

I offer post-launch support windows, monthly maintenance retainers and documented handover for teams taking maintenance in-house.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Working together

Do you build native Android apps or use Flutter?

Both. Android-only products with deep platform integration often suit Kotlin; products that also need iOS usually suit Flutter so one codebase covers both stores. I recommend based on your roadmap and budget, not on a single preferred tool.

Can you publish the app to Google Play for me?

Yes. I prepare signed app bundles, complete the store listing and data safety declarations, and handle the submission and review cycle, including fixes if Play flags something.

How long does an Android app take to build?

A focused app usually takes 6–12 weeks including Play review. Larger products with payments, multiple roles, admin tooling or TV support take longer. Scope and design readiness are the biggest variables.

Will the app work on older Android phones?

That is a scoping decision. I target a sensible minimum Android version for your audience, test on real low-end hardware where it matters, and keep the download size and memory use realistic for the devices your users actually carry.

Can you update an app that is already on the Play Store?

Yes. I can take over an existing listing, update the codebase, migrate signing and ship new versions while keeping the existing install base and reviews.
