Social apps built for real communities, not demo feeds.

A social product is not just a feed screen. It is a set of decisions about identity, content, visibility, reporting and what happens when someone behaves badly. I build the app and the backend around those decisions, so the product can grow without the feed becoming the whole architecture.

01 · WHAT SHAPES THE BUILD

The feed is the visible part. The hard part is everything behind it.

Profiles, follows, posts, comments, reactions, notifications and a report queue all touch the same content. If they are built as separate features, every new surface repeats the same permission checks and the same edge cases. I start with the content model and the rules around it: who can see what, who can reply, what gets removed and who can restore it.

That model then drives the feed API, the notification rules and the moderation tools. It also decides how the app behaves on a poor connection: whether a post is queued, whether a like is optimistic, and what the user sees when the server rejects it.

02 · SCOPE

Build the first loop before building the whole network

A useful first version usually needs accounts, profiles, a follow or join model, a paginated feed, post creation with media, comments or reactions, notifications, report/block and an admin view. Those pieces are enough to learn whether people come back. Stories, direct messages, search, recommendations and richer media can follow once the retention loop is visible.

I can build the Flutter client, the Laravel API and the admin surface together, or work on one layer alongside your team. The important part is that the product rules live in one place rather than being re-implemented in every screen.

03 · MODERATION & TRUST

Decide how the community is handled before launch, not after

Report and block flows, an admin queue, content filters, rate limits and a clear escalation path are not features you add after growth. They are part of the release definition. The same applies to account deletion, data export and privacy requests, which both app stores now expect you to handle properly.

I do not pretend a clone of a large social network is a product strategy. The useful question is which interaction your community needs, and what the smallest reliable version of that interaction looks like.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Working together

Can you build an Instagram-style social app?

I can build the social mechanics — profiles, follows, feed, media, comments, notifications and moderation. I would not sell a feature-for-feature clone as a product strategy. We would scope the interaction that makes your community different and build the smallest reliable version of it.

Do you build the backend as well as the app?

Yes. I build Laravel APIs and admin tools alongside Flutter clients. If you already have a backend, I can work against it and document the contract the app depends on.

How do you handle bad content and abusive users?

Report and block flows, an admin review queue, rate limits, content filters and a written escalation process are part of the build. The exact approach depends on whether your community is public, private or invite-only.

How much does a social app cost?

It depends on the feature loop, media handling, moderation and how much backend already exists. A focused first version is very different from a full network with messaging, recommendations and live media. The pricing guide explains the drivers, and a written scope gives you a real number.

Can the app work on low-end Android phones?

Yes, if the feed, image sizes and caching are designed for it. I test on representative hardware rather than assuming a flagship phone represents the audience.

Can you add messaging later?

Yes. The content and permission model should be designed so messaging can be added without rewriting the account and notification layers. I would still scope it as a separate milestone.
